Supreme Court Collegeium Recommands Justice Vikram Nath as AP CJ

Hyderabad: The Collegium  of  Supreme Judges headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi has recommended  the appointment of Mr Justice Vikram Nath, Judge of Allahabad High Court, as Chief Justice in Andhra Pradesh High Court. Justices S A Bose  and N V Ramana are the other Members of the collegium.

This was stated  in a press note by the Supreme Court of India, at Delhi.  The collegium passed a resolution in this regard.

The resolution passed to this effect states, “Mr. Justice Vikram Nath is the senior-most Judge from Allahabad High Court and is functioning in that High Court since his elevation. Having regard to all relevant factors, the Collegium finds Mr Justice Vikram Nath suitable in all respects for being appointed as Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh  High Court. The Collegium resolves to recommend accordingly.“

Justice Vikram Nath profile

Justice Vikram Nath obtained his law degree in 1986. Following his enrollment in 1987, he practised in the Allahabad High Court. He was appointed an additional judge of the Allahabad High Court in 2004 and made a permanent judge of the High Court in 2006. He will be in service till September 23, 2024.(NSS)
