Hyderabad: Supreme Court today denied permission for Moharram processions in the country to check coronavirus spread.
With this, there might not be related processions in Hyderabad as the high court already denied.
On a petition, the supreme court ruled out giving permission for the event as it will lead to spreading corona. It said to offer permission on the lines of one given to Puri Jagannath Rath Yatra in Odisha.
That yatra was confined to an area and on a single route, while Moharram processions are countrywide which is not possible, the court supreme court said. As a result, Moharram processions may not take place in the city or elsewhere in the state.
