Suravaram condemns “murderous” attack on Swami Agnivesh

Hyderabad:The National Secretariat of CPI today condemned the unprovoked murderous attacks on Swami Agnivesh allegedly by the activists of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) at Jharkhand’s Pakur district.

CPI General Secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy, in a statement here, found fault with the incident on Swami Agnivesh when he had arrived in Pakur to attend a program concerning the Paharia tribe at the Littipara stadium. This has happened on the day when the Supreme Court came out strongly against lynching.

It may be noted here that Swami Agnivesh, a former minister of Haryana, is a respected Arya Samaj leader, who is into social activities, including fight against child labour and also known for his secular views. Sudhakar Reddy demanded immediate arrest of culprits and early trial by fast-track court. (NSS)
