Amidst the bill passing and amendments in Rajya Sabha, Deputy Chairman Harivansh reported an unfortunate incident in the House. A suspended Trinamool MP broke the glass of a door and got into a scuffle with the Parliament staff.
Female Assistant Security Officer Lodges Complaint Against Trinamool MP
As per the latest reports, the Chairman said that the incident happened on Wednesday. Following this, a female assistant security officer had filed a complaint against Trinamool MP Arpita Ghosh. He also said that the matter is under examination.
To the announcement, the Trinamool leader Sukhendu Sekhar Ray said that the MP was suspended for the day. But she came only after the House was adjourned for the day.

He asked how could she be stopped when the house was already adjourned for the day.
The Leader of the House Piyush Goyal said that this is an unfortunate incident. He further defended the staff and said that the MP was stopped as sanitisation work was about to begin.
Leader of the opposition Malliakarjun Kharge said that the protests by the opposition on various issues in the House are all part of democratic rights. He further quoted the late Arun Jaitely. He said that Jaitely also had said earlier that protesting and opposing is a part of the democratic process.
The House was adjourned for 15 minutes.
6 TMC MP Suspended From Rajya Sabha on Wednesday
The above incident comes after Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu suspended six of the TMC MPs on Wednesday. They were reportedly carrying placards while protesting with the opposition MPs over the Pegasus issue.
This includes Dola Sen, Arpita Ghosh, Shanta Chhetri, Abir Ranjan Biswas, Mausam Noor and Nadimul Haque. They were asked to withdraw from the proceedings of the House for holding placards and disorderly behaviour.
Since the starting of the monsoon session, TMC and other opposition MPs were accused of slogan shouting. They also demanded holding placards, demanding discussions on the issues of Pegasus spyware, etc.
