In an exciting initiative in Hyderabad, teenage students are taking their education to new heights by designing, building, and testing their own rockets and aircraft at SpaceGen Aviation Pvt Ltd, located in Begumpet. The hands-on learning experience is helping students from grades 6 to 12 bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world applications in aviation and rocketry.
Captain Vego, the founder of SpaceGen Aviation and a former civil aviation professional, emphasized that this program allows students to go beyond traditional textbooks. He explained that students actively engage in creating single-stage and multi-stage rockets and aircraft, turning their innovative ideas into reality right from their school grounds.
“This initiative transforms the educational experience by providing practical, real-world exposure to aviation and rocketry,” said Captain Vego. “We are helping students to build a solid foundation for their future careers in these industries.”

The program, which has trained 400-500 commercial pilots who have completed their 12th grade, is aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of aviation principles and rocketry. SpaceGen Aviation has also partnered with the Aeronautical Society of India and the Paramotor and Paragliding Association of India, further enhancing the students’ learning experience.
In addition to rocket and aircraft design, SpaceGen Aviation provides an immersive flight simulator experience, where students can taxi, take off, and land aircraft just like real pilots. They also get hands-on exposure to aircraft engines, electrical systems, and jet-fuel-based propulsion systems. Students gain real-world insight into the aviation industry through field trips and interactions with officials from international airports, the Indian Air Force, and space agencies.
Furthermore, SpaceGen students have had the opportunity to visit prestigious institutions such as NASA and the Smithsonian Museums. They’ve even flown real light-weight aircraft in Dubai, gaining valuable firsthand aviation experience.
The program encourages students to push boundaries, and some have already designed innovative solutions in the field of aviation. For instance, teenage students have developed commercial aircraft wing flanges that enable joint sealing without the use of gaskets, showcasing their impressive problem-solving skills. SpaceGen also boasts its own manufacturing plant to bring these designs to life.
While many schools focus on subjects like AI and machine learning, SpaceGen offers a unique approach by combining theoretical knowledge with practical aviation experience. The course fees start at just Rs 15,000, making this invaluable education accessible to aspiring aviation enthusiasts.
Through its combination of education, hands-on training, and international exposure, SpaceGen Aviation is preparing the next generation of aerospace professionals and offering students the opportunity to reach new heights in their careers.
