The latest reports indicate that about 1,800 pilgrims from Telangana will depart for Saudi Arabia on June 20 to perform Hajj.
As part of the Hajj pilgrimage, the Telangana State Hajj Committee (TSHC) accepts applications, conducts draws, sends selected pilgrims to Saudi Arabia, monitors their stay, and ensures their safe return.
There will be approximately 1,800 pilgrims from Telangana departing for the Hajj pilgrimage. The Saudi Arabian government has reduced the quota as a result of the Covid protocol, so the number is very low.
Around 3,600 pilgrims will leave from Hyderabad’s embarkation point, including those from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Maharashtra.
Starting June 20, the Hajj camp will last until the end of the month. The arrangements have been made for pilgrims whose flights are scheduled a day or two before the arrival date of their flight from the districts of Telangana and other states.

At the Hajj camp, arrangements are being made for outstation pilgrims’ stay, immigration and customs clearances, luggage collection, etc.
There have been five training programs for Hajj pilgrims conducted so far in the state. The pilgrims were informed about various Hajj-related practices by religious scholars. In addition, books were provided so that they could refer to them.
There have been complaints regarding Khadim ul Hujjaj’s failure to attend to pilgrims. To prevent this from happening again, the pilgrims were asked to send a written complaint, which will be forwarded to the department where the Hajj volunteer works and asked not to recommend their name again.
A directive was given by the Chief Minister KCR to ensure a smooth flow of the Hajj pilgrimage schedule. All arrangements for pilgrims staying at Hajj camps are handled by him, from accommodation and food to other services. Similarly, it will be made sure that they return safely to their homes.
