Hyderabad: Telangana Assembly session will approve the budget appropriation bill of Rs 1.82 lakh crore for the 2020-21 financial year on Monday (March 16) instead of earlier scheduled March 20, 2020.
In the wake of Coronavirus scare in the world and India began taking measures, Chief Minister of the state K Chandrasekhar Rao has on Saturday called an urgent meeting and chaired a cabinet that decided to reduce days of assembly session by four days.
KCR also asked the schools, theatres and function halls to shut till March 31 to keep away from the virus scare and its danger.
The schedule of the budget session was reduced to March 16 from the previous date of March 20, 2020, followed by Corona scare and government measures to check.
This time the Assembly may not take up a resolution to be passed against the controversial CAA introduced BJP led government in the center.
Though thought earlier, KCR reportedly postponed the plan to pass a resolution in the Assembly against the CAA.
Meanwhile, The speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy canceled the question hour for winding up the session. The house passed several resolutions and approved a few bills as part of the budget session.
The house will adopt the appropriation bill of the budget as directed by the leader of the house.
At CM KCR’s request, both Speaker and council chairman G Sukhender Reddy reportedly agreed to wind up the business by Monday. They have asked officials to see that the appropriation bill gets passed on March 16.
