Hyderabad: Telangana today bagged eight national awards in rural development and the officials concerned received them in New Delhi.
At Vignan Bhavan program in New Delhi, Union Rural Development Minister Narendra Singh Tomar presented the awards to the officials of Telangana, including Rural Development Commissioner Neetu Kumari Prasad, Saidulu and others. The awards include transparency, accountability, employment guarantee scheme, good governance and others. Telangana stood top among the two States for implementing Sham Prasad Mukherjee Rurban Mission.
It also bagged two awards out of 18 in implementing employment guarantee scheme and awards received by officials — Vikarabad Collector Syed Omar Jaleel, Johnson, Kamareddy Collector Satyanarayana Reddy, RDO Chandramohan Reddy. Other awards given include SIRD in villages, Ibrahimpur village panchayat, Sidhipet district, payment to workers. (NSS)
