Telangana is currently experiencing a strong cold wave, which has resulted in a dramatic drop in night temperatures and the formation of dense fog in numerous districts.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) attributed the chill to cold winds from the northeast, which are likely to last till December 29. The IMD has issued a fog notice for several areas, warning people of limited visibility late at night and early in the morning.

The minimum temperature at IMD’s Hakimpet was 6.6°C on the night of Sunday, December 24, and Monday, December 25, deviating by 8°C from the usual range. The Komaram Bhim Asifabad district had a low of 8.5°C, while Adilabad had a low of 9.2°C, which was 3.0°C below the normal range.
Temperatures fell below 15°C in several additional regions, including Hanamkonda, Hyderabad, Khammam, Mahabubnagar, Medak, Nalgonda, Nizamabad, and Ramagundam. The minimum temperature was 15.5°C, according to the IMD meteorological unit in Begumpet, Hyderabad. Temperatures are likely to remain below 16°C, and fog is expected to persist until December 29.
Residents are warned to take essential care while the region experiences this unique winter weather, due to the cold wave and poor visibility.
