The recent torrential rains in Telangana have resulted in serious floods in several districts, displacing hundreds of people and inflicting major damage to property and livelihoods.
Floodwaters have submerged residences in places such as Moranchapalli, Mahabubabad’s Arpanpally Village, and Mulugu’s Kondai, resulting in injuries and missing persons. According to sources, 22 people have died in Moranchapalli village alone, and approximately 900 people have been affected. The flood has also harmed 240 families in Kondai village.
The Kaleshwaram project, which has been criticized for increasing the region’s flood issue, has exacerbated the situation. The devastated villagers are in desperate need of food and other necessities. They are dependent on non-governmental organizations (NGOs) for aid because other sources of assistance have been limited.

Telangana has received above-average rainfall during the current monsoon season, with certain places receiving far more than average. Excessive rainfall has forced rivers and bodies of water to overflow, resulting in deadly floods.
As the flood situation worsens, authorities and relief organizations must provide prompt aid and support to the impacted populations, ensuring that they have the resources they need for survival and recovery.
