Telangana Government Approves Recruitment for 3,035 Posts in TGSRTC

The Telangana government has approved the recruitment of 3,035 new positions in the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC), aiming to bolster the state’s public transport infrastructure. This decision aligns with the proposals submitted by RTC officials and addresses various operational needs within the corporation.

The recruitment drive encompasses a diverse range of positions, including 2,000 drivers, 743 labourers, 114 deputy superintendents (mechanic), 84 deputy superintendents (traffic), 25 depot managers/assistant traffic managers, 23 assistant engineers (civil), 15 assistant mechanical engineers, 11 section officers (civil), seven medical officers (general), and seven medical officers (specialist).

Ponnam Prabhakar, the Minister of Transport and BC Welfare, expressed his satisfaction with the government’s approval, emphasizing that these appointments will significantly enhance the public transport system in Telangana. “With the induction of new personnel, we are poised to improve our services and meet the growing demands of our commuters,” Prabhakar stated.

The corporation is also in the process of acquiring new buses, supported by the state government, to cater to the increased ridership following the implementation of the Mahalakshmi scheme. This scheme has boosted the demand for reliable and efficient public transportation across the state.
