The Telangana State Government is gearing up to finalize the fee structure for engineering colleges, with a comprehensive review of each institution’s infrastructure, teaching staff, lab facilities, and overall teaching standards.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, emphasizing the growing demand for emerging courses like Artificial Intelligence (AI), directed that engineering colleges in the State should strive to meet world-class standards.
According to an official statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the government will base its fee determination on multiple factors including buildings, laboratory facilities, salaries paid to faculty, and both teaching and non-teaching staff quality.
The decision follows directives from the Supreme Court, especially from the landmark cases Islamic Academy of Education vs Karnataka and PA Inamdar and Others vs Maharashtra, which stress that infrastructure, faculty pay scales, lab standards, and future institutional development plans must be considered while fixing fees.
In addition, the State government has decided to complete the engineering admission counseling process within the stipulated time frame, ensuring no delays in the academic calendar.
