Telangana Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy today garlanded the statue of Dr. BR Ambedkar on the premises of the State Assembly on Thursday and paid tributes to him.
Recollecting his contribution to the nation, the Speaker said Dr. Ambedkar continues to be the tallest leader, who worked for the uplift of the downtrodden and Dalits in the country. “The real tribute can be paid to Dr. Ambedkar only when we achieve the eradication of poverty, remove disparity and discrimination among the people,” Pocharam said.
The Speaker also said the development is going on in Telangana State based on the ideals of Dr Ambedkar and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao realizing his dreams by implementing various welfare schemes for the Dalits. The Speaker said the Telangana State has been progressing well on all fronts and it has become a role model for all other States in the welfare and development programs. .
