An application pertaining to the constitution of a boundary wall for Waqf property in Begumpet was not entertained by the Telangana High Court by two benches of Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Abhinand Kumar Shavili.
It was complained by petitioners, S V Ranga and others, that permission has been granted to build a boundary wall around a Waqf property. In response to the petitioner’s assertions, Abu Akram, counsel for the Waqf Board, pointed out that the property title was not subject to a dispute, as stated by the petitioner.

As a result, he argued that it was a personal court action disguised as a PIL. In its decision, the panel refused to discuss the issue and agreed that the petitioner had the right to invoke the alternative remedy provided under the Waqf Act.
The Waqf Board plans to set up a cancer hospital
Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi, the chairperson of the J&K Waqf Board, met with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at the Raj Bhavan. A brief overview of the initiatives taken by the Waqf Board in order to streamline the Waqf Management System in J&K was provided by Dr. Andrabi to the Lt Governor.
The Waqf Board in J&K was also presented with her roadmap for transformation. He appreciated the Waqf Board’s decision to build the Cancer Hospital in J&K and hopes that Waqf will undertake many other such initiatives in the future.
As part of his proposal, Dr Andrabi also suggested the formation of a Tribunal to handle the legal matters related to Waqf in J&K, as defined by the Central Waqf Act.
In addition, she sought the Lt Governor’s intervention on a number of public matters. It was assured that genuine issues would be resolved by the Lt Governor. Dr Andrabi was also encouraged to continue her public service endeavours.
