Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao stated on Friday that Telangana will never face drought and that the people of the state will never face a power shortage in the future. Once described as one of the most backward regions in the country, he said, Telangana has witnessed phenomenal growth in the last eight years, giving other well-established and older States a run for their money in terms of growth, development, and welfare.
The Chief Minister stated that the new State was doing wonders on all fronts and that not only the urban areas but also the remote areas, were set to experience multifold growth as a result of the conducive economic ecosystem created in the last eight years. Jangaon, along with Medchal, Yadadri, Hanamkonda, and Warangal districts, is poised to become a major industrial growth corridor.
Speaking to district officials after inaugurating the collectorate complex here on Friday, he said that Jangaon, which was once a drought-prone area, had seen tremendous development as a result of several initiatives, including irrigation facilities provided by the Devadula lift irrigation project. I was travelling to Warangal from Siddipet one day during the movement for a separate state for Telangana. When I was asked to stop at Bachhannapet Mandal centre, I had tears in my eyes and wept because of the horrific drought conditions that forced the youth to migrate to other places to make a living, leaving the elderly in the village. I was deeply moved by the plight of the region that had become synonymous with drought. He added that the Jangaon district is now receiving a large paddy harvest.

Land prices in the Jangaon area have also skyrocketed. The land used to be sold for Rs two to three lakh per acre, but it is now worth Rs two to three crore along the highway. Even land in the villages is priced between Rs 20 lakhs and Rs 40 lakhs on the roadside. This has occurred as a result of several steps taken collectively by us, he said, thanking the employees for their contributions to the State’s growth. He has proudly declared that there will be no drought not only in Jangaon but throughout the entire state.
There will be no power outages at any cost in the future, he declared, adding that Telangana had surpassed several large states in terms of development. The Chief Minister stated that the State is attracting many big industries and IT companies because of the eco-system created under TRS rule after the formation of the State and that cosmopolitan culture, no caste and religious chauvinism, and the maintenance of law and order were assisting the State to make wonders in progress. Villas in Hyderabad and surrounding areas are priced between Rs 14 crore and Rs 25 crore. People from Delhi and Mumbai are also interested in buying villas in Hyderabad, he added.
Referring to the creation of the new districts, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao stated that the district had been divided after much deliberation with certain clear objectives and that the creation of the new districts would usher in development in the State’s most remote areas.
Concerning the zonal system and employee allotment, Chandrashekhar Rao stated that they would be resolved and directed Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar to take steps to provide special allowance to employees working in remote areas for the development of the State. These are minor concerns. We should resolve them and strive for the State’s development in the long run for the sake of the larger interest of the State. The government and officials must work together, he said, urging employees to strive for the State’s development in the same way that they have in the past.
People from other states will one day talk about Telangana State as having the richest employees, he said, adding that Telangana would experience incredible growth.
The state’s per capita income will soon rise to Rs 2.70 lakh from Rs 2.37 lakh. This would be significantly higher than the state of Andhra Pradesh, which has a per capita income of Rs 1.70 lakh, he announced.
