Telangana’s Former Home Minister Narasimha Reddy Dies at the Age of 76

Hyderabad: Nayani Narasimha Reddy, Telangana’s former Home Minister and senior head of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) died in the early hours of Thursday after a brief sickness. He was 76.

Narasimha Reddy breathed his last at the Apollo Hospital, where he was under treatment for lung disease, his family said.

He has admitted to a hospital for health issues post his recuperation from COVID-19. Doctors said his lungs were harmed.

Born on May 12, 1944, in Nalgonda locale, he had taken an interest in the Telangana movement of the 1970s. He likewise assumed an active role in the development after it was resurrected by K. Chandrasekhar Rao by floating the TRS in 2001.

He started his political profession as a trade union chief. The head of the Janata Party in undivided Andhra Pradesh, he was chosen three times for the State Assembly from Musheerabad constituency in Hyderabad.

Narasimha Reddy was first chosen for the Assembly in 1978. He was reappointed in 1985. Subsequent to joining TRS in 2001, he was again chosen for the Assembly in 2004 and filled in as the technical education minister from 2004 to 2006 in the alliance government drove by Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.

Following the formation of Telangana State in 2014, Chandrasekhar Rao recruited him in his cabinet as the home minister. He was afterward chosen for the Legislative Council.

In any case, after TRS held power in 2018 Narasimha Reddy was denied a berth in the cabinet and was from that point forward avoiding active politics.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has communicated shock over the passing of Narasimha Reddy. He recollected his relationship with Narasimha Reddy throughout the period of the Telangana movement and in the state government.

The Chief Minister passed on his condolences to the members of the bereaved family and guided the Chief Secretary to conduct the last rites for the departed leader with official honors.

Narasimha Reddy’s body was moved to his home, where many ministers and TRS heads offered their final respects.

Adoringly called ‘Narsanna’, he is survived by his spouse, a daughter, and a son.

Mr. Narasimha Reddy was known for his intense appearance despite advancing age. The name ‘bullet Narsanna’ turned into his sobriquet as he was accustomed riding the Bullet bike before joining the TRS.
