In a significant move to facilitate the travel of passengers during the upcoming Dasara festival, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has announced the operation of 6,000 special buses from October 1 to 15.
These buses will serve routes from Hyderabad and Secunderabad to various parts of Telangana and neighboring states, including Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Maharashtra.
The TSRTC has introduced an advance reservation facility for these special services, ensuring that passengers can secure their seats ahead of time. TSRTC Managing Director VC Sajjanar emphasized the expected surge in passenger traffic, particularly on October 9, 10, and 11, as the festival approaches.

This year, Dasara falls on October 12, and officials anticipate a higher number of travelers compared to last year’s festival, thanks in part to auspicious days coinciding with Dasara and the implementation of the Mahalakshmi scheme.
To enhance the travel experience, Sajjanar has directed officials to coordinate with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to establish special lanes for RTC buses at toll plazas, minimizing delays.
Additionally, the TSRTC plans to set up a robust infrastructure at key congested areas, including LB Nagar, Uppal, Aramghar, KPHB, and Santosh Nagar. This will include the installation of public address systems, tents, seating arrangements, and the provision of drinking water to ensure travelers’ comfort and convenience.
With these proactive measures, the TSRTC aims to provide seamless and efficient transportation for the thousands of people expected to travel during the Dasara festival, allowing them to celebrate the occasion with ease.
