The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has announced a significant increase in ridership and revenue, attributing much of the growth to its ‘Mana Bus’ scheme. The state-run corporation revealed on Thursday that the scheme has contributed greatly to its financial recovery, with a notable surge in passenger numbers.
As part of efforts to meet the growing demand for public transportation, TGRTC has added 1,389 new buses to its fleet, including luxury and sleeper services. These buses cater to both city commuters and long-distance travelers.
Special services connecting Hyderabad with surrounding regions, along with long-distance sleeper buses, have also been introduced, offering added convenience to passengers. Additionally, city-specific electric vehicles have been rolled out to improve connectivity within the city.

In line with its commitment to environmental sustainability, TGRTC has significantly expanded its fleet of electric buses. Over 250 electric buses are currently in service across Hyderabad, Karimnagar, and other cities in Telangana. This move is part of the corporation’s broader strategy to reduce its carbon footprint and offer cleaner transportation options to the public. TGRTC has also outlined plans to expand its electric bus fleet to 2,400 by 2025, signaling a strong push toward eco-friendly travel.
The expansion of the ‘Mana Bus’ scheme and the introduction of electric buses are expected to not only enhance the corporation’s financial performance but also improve the overall public transport experience for residents of Telangana. With the increasing focus on sustainability and accessibility, TGRTC aims to continue strengthening its services and expanding its reach in the coming years.
