Three Fraudsters Arrested for Cheating Thousands in Sacrificial Meat Scam

In a significant breakthrough, the Habib Nagar police have arrested three individuals associated with the Khidmat Foundation for defrauding thousands of Muslims by promising sacrificial meat (Hissa)  at low prices and absconding with approximately ₹2 crore. The arrests were made following an extensive investigation into complaints lodged by victims on Eid-ul-Azha.

The accused, identified as Muhammad Nasir from Chandlal Bara Dari, Muhammad Zafar Ahmed from Sun City Bandla Gowra Jagir, and Muhammad Ashfaq, also from Sun City Bandla Gowra Jagir, were apprehended with ₹23 lakh, a laptop, and three cell phones in their possession.

The scam unraveled on the day of Eid-ul-Azha when those who had paid for the sacrificial portions (Hissa) through the Khidmat Foundation did not receive the promised meat. As the day progressed and no meat arrived, attempts to contact the fraudsters failed, with all their phones found to be switched off.

Concerned and duped citizens then approached the Habib Nagar police station, leading to the registration of a case and the subsequent investigation. The police acted swiftly, tracing and capturing the fraudsters, and recovering a significant portion of the swindled money.

According to the police, the mastermind behind the scam, Nisar Ahmed, had established the Khidmat Foundation four years ago. By engaging in social services, he and his accomplices built a facade of trust and reliability among the community. Capitalizing on this trust, they set up counters in various areas during Eid-ul-Azha, offering sacrificial portions at an attractive rate of ₹2800 per share. The unsuspecting public, drawn by the low prices, made payments, only to be deceived.

“The fraudulent activities of these individuals have deeply impacted the community, especially during a festival of significant religious importance. We have taken swift action to bring them to justice and recover the stolen funds,” a senior police official stated.

The authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to prevent such incidents in the future. The investigation continues as the police seek to identify any additional victims and ensure complete justice is served.

For now, the arrest of these three fraudsters marks a crucial step in safeguarding the community from deceitful schemes and reinforces the commitment of the Hyderabad police to uphold law and order.
