Hyderabad: TJS leaders PL Vishweshwar Rao and Lakshman today filed a complaint to Election Commission against the ruling party for violating poll code by using its newspapers and channels and luring people by offering money in the elections.
Talking to mediapersons after meeting with CEO Rajat Kumar, Vishweshwar Rao said they appealed to the EC to stop misusing media, spending huge money and official machinery by the ruling party. “We have urged the EC to put a tab on the ruling party to abstain from decorating the historic monuments, offices and noted places in the name of festival or other as it will help them gain in the polls.
The TJS has objected that newspapers and television channels of the ruling party are violating the poll code by giving undue publicity to the TRS, he said. The EC is ought to stop the false publicity and expenditure against the poll code, he added. The TRS regime failed to keep its promises and the roads in the city are bad, he charged. (NSS)
