TPCC sore with CM for not inducting a woman in cabinet again

Hyderabad : TPCC official spokesperson Indira Shoban on Tuesday termed the newly expanded cabinet by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao as far from what was expected. She said hopes of the people of the State that they could have a woman minister in the State cabinet were once again dashed as the CM did not induct any woman MLA of the party into his cabinet.

Indira Shoban said it was unfortunate that the women leaders, who played crucial role in separate Telangana State struggle, did not get an opportunity to serve as a minister. Noting that KCR’s daughter K. Kavitha was going to deliver an address on the topic of gender equality at the UNO, she asked the Nizamabad MP as to why she was not questioning about the gender equality in her own government. She called upon the women to corner the ruling party leaders on the issue.

Alleging that the TRS State government has failed to react on Madhulika’s death case, she demanded that the State government set up a Women’s Commission in the State. She also said there was no place for Madiga and tribal communities in KCR’s cabinet.  (NSS)
