In a tragic turn of events, a Haj pilgrim from Mahbubnagar in Telangana died in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. Mohammad Shamsheer Pasha and his wife Shahina Begum had begun their Haj journey under the supervision of the Telangana Haj Committee. His health, however, deteriorated during their stay in Azizia’s apartment complex, necessitating his hospitalisation. Despite undergoing therapy, he died as a result of his disease.
Following the Zuhr prayers, funeral prayers were held at Haram Sharif in Makkah under the supervision of Indian Haj Mission authorities. The funeral was held at the Sharayea cemetery near Makkah. The attendance of Khadim-ul-Hujjaj was particularly directed by Telangana Hajj Committee officials during the funeral prayers and burial processes. Mohammad Shamsheer Pasha’s family has been alerted of this unfortunate tragedy.
Mohammad Saleem, Chairman of the Hajj Committee, expressed heartfelt grief and condolences on the death of Mohammad Shamsheer Pasha.
Meanwhile, as the Haj trip began and Telangana Haj travellers were relocated to Mina, getting appropriate housing was difficult. There have been disturbing stories of pilgrims uploading video messages expressing their grievances and shedding light on the awful position they are now in. The tents in Mina are at capacity, leaving many pilgrims without adequate shelter. This has proved especially difficult for older pilgrims, some of whom require assistance and use wheelchairs.
