Hyderabad: Tension prevailed for some time at Martyrs Statue located before Assembly building when TRSV leaders under the leadership of Peddapally MP B Suman tried to cleanse the Martyrs Statue with milk as it was defiled with the touch of AICC Chief Rahul Gandhi. But the leaders of NSUI obstructed the efforts of TRSV leaders.
Speaking on the occasion, Suman said Rahul Gandhi defiled the Martyrs Statue by paying tributes to the statue and hence cleansed it with milk. He alleged that the Congress party has the history of killing the Telangana protagonists. He pulled up Rahul Gandhi, who was stating that he will accord specials status to AP, questioning that as to why he didn’t ask Prime Minister Modi on the rights of Telangana. He also said the State Congress leaders made Rahul to speak lies and alleged that Rahul Gandhi mortgaged the Congress to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to benefit the Congress party in AP. He predicted that there was no future to Congress party in Telangana.
Earlier, Rahul Gandhi paid tributes to the Martyrs Statue at Gun Park. Later he went to Saroor Nagar stadium from there. Jostling took place between the Congress activists and police as the Congress cadre reached Gun Park in huge numbers. Interestingly, the TRSV activists too reached the spot in big numbers to obstruct Rahul Gandhi. The TRSV activists already announced that they will cleanse the statue after Rahul’s tributes. (NSS)
