Hyderabad: The vice-chairman of the National Minorities Commission Atif Rasheed heaped praises on the state government for the implementation of various welfare programs for the development of minorities of the state. He said that the state was a role model in the implementation of the welfare programs of the minority community.
He made these remarks during his meeting with the home minister of the state Mohammad Mahmood Ali at the latter’s residence. Speaking on the occasion he said that he was happy to learn that the state government was operating special schools for providing education to the children of the community.
He said that he was praising the state government for implementing so many schemes for the minority community. Home minister Mahmood Ali said that the state government had spent ₹4945 crores during the last six years for the development of the community.
Ali also said that the state government had set up 204 residential schools and 83 colleges to provide education to the students from the community and added that a total of 90,000 students were benefitting from these educational institutions.
He also said that the chief minister of the state KCR had sanctioned₹207 crores for providing foreign education to the minority students under the overseas scholarship scheme. Rasheed showered praises on the state government for implementing the Shadi Mubarak scheme for the marriage of poor Muslim girls.
