TUWJU leaders called on DGP over NIrmal Police brutality

The delegation of Telangana Urdu Working Journalists Union under the leadership of its President Mr. Ather Moin today called on the Director General of Police Telangana State Mr. Mahendar Reddy and submitted a memorandum on the brutal attack on a journalist in Nirmal Town during the communal tension prevailed after the Ram Navmi procession. The delegation informed him about the incident took place in Nirmal Town on 26th March. They informed him that Munsif Reporter Mr. Faheem Ahmed Khan was brutally beaten up while he was on duty and taking account the police action of arresting youths who was allegedly involved in violence. They told the Police Chief said that though the journalist showed his identity and informed the cops that he was performing his legitimize duty as they are doing their duty, however, the aggressive cops did not stop beating resulting he sustained injuries and was admitted in hospital. They demanded fair and partial inquiry and appropriate action against the culpable cops who acted as they received impunity. The DGP heard the delegation patiently and said that he asked the concerned Superintendent of Police to inquire about the incident and investigate the matter and take appropriate action if the cops found guilty.
