Two accused in separate cases sentenced to life term

Hyderabad: As per the instructions of the Director General of Police, Telangana State, to improve quality of investigation for securing convictions, Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat has strengthened, developed an effective system of monitoring, brainstorming sessions and conducting classes by the Court duty officers to all stakeholders in all Police Stations to get more convictions with the collaboration of public prosecutors.

During February and March this year, a total of 75 accused were convicted in 53 cases — life imprisonment in two cases, three years rigorous imprisonment in three cases, two-year RI in eight cases, one-year RI in 15 cases, below one year RI in 15 cases and fined in 10 cases. In Pedda Amberpet Uday Kumar abduction and murder case for ransom, main accused Bheemanapally Naveen Kumar, 22, and his accomplices Kodisela Naveen Kumar, 24, Chenchala Upender, 21, and Repaka Narsing Rao alias Narsimha, 21, all residents of Batasingaram village were convicted by VIII ADJ Court at L.B Nagar. Main accused Bheemanapally Naveen Kumar was sentenced to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 3,000.

In another case registered under Sections 302, 120(B), 201, 109, 467, 468 & 420 IPC, R/W 34 IPC of Jawahar Nagar, main accused Doppalapudi Lokesh Babu, 22, his accomplices Singireddy Suman Reddy, 22, Singireddy Mahender Reddy, Kurollu Madhusudhan alias Madhu, 27, and Veeravalli Anjaneyulu, 37, were convicted by XIII ADJ Court at LB Nagar. On March 27, 2019, the judge convicted Doppalapudi Lokesh Babu to undergo Life Imprisonment and imposed fine of Rs 2,000. Singireddy Suman Reddy was convicted for one year imprisonment and fine of Rs 2,000 for criminal conspiracy and plan to eliminate Avula Uday Kumar, 47, Advocate of Kapra, ECIL becoming an obstacle in grabbing five acres land in Chennapuram village, Shamirpet Mandal. The main accused Lokesh Babu allegedly attacked the deceased with a sickle and murdered him at the disputed land.  Singireddy Suman Reddy assisted him in shifting the body into the Maruthi car of deceased and shifting it to Keesara Dairy and setting it ablaze with petrol.
