Hyderabad : Commissioner’s Task Force personnel today arrested two offenders identified as Abdul Majeed Khan Babar alias Babar and Syed Shafiulla Shah and detected one Cell phone snatching and six automobile thefts i.e. five two-wheelers and one three wheeler. The police recovered five Motorcycles, one Autorickshaw and one Oppo Mobile phone all worth Rs 5 lakh at the instance of the accused.
Police said Abdul Majeed Khan Babar alias Babar was arrested in 2018 by Meerpet police in a cell phone snatching case. Some four months back, he was released from the jail. He developed friendship with Syed Shafiulla Shah of a neighboring colony and continued to commit thefts.
The modus operandi of the accused was to commit theft of vehicles that were parked in front of houses in the nights after opening locked vehicles by using false key or by breaking the handle lock. He did not sell the vehicles to others as he does not have documents. After his release from jail, he committed theft of five two-wheelers in the limits of Banjara Hills, Rayadurgam, Begum Bazar, Asif Nagar and Meerpet police stations. He also committed theft of an auto in Banjara Hills area and snatched a cell phone under the limits of Santosh Nagar police station. (NSS)
