Karimnagar: Two workers of the Jammikunta municipality were injured when the crane rope, used for lowering the Ganesh idol into the water, snapped and four persons, who were handling the huge clay idol seated in the crane bucket landed in the Naini tank along with the idol. They were shifted to a hospital.
It is learnt that the incident occurred due to the negligence of the officials. Two cranes were used to immerse idols at Nayani tank. While the new crane was used to immerse big idols, the old one was being used for small ones. (NSS)
