Hyderbad: Two policemen from Hyderabad were caught taking bribe from the driver of a goods auto, on what appears to be a mobile phone camera and get suspended immediately after the Hyderabad police gets notice of it.
In the video, one of the two policemen is seen sitting on a bike while the other is talking to the driver of an auto. He removes the mobile phone of the man from his shirt pocket and gives it back after taking a look at it. The cop then takes the money which the driver hands to him, sits on the bike behind the other cop and they ride away.
The police men are identified as constables, D Pancha Mukesh and B Suresh. The nearly 44 second long video is recorded in Afzal gunj market area of Hyderabad.
The Hyderabad City Police took prompt action against the cops, suspending them. The Hyderabad Police chief Anjani Kumar tweeted saying, “Placed under suspension with immediate effect : PC Pancha Mukesh & PC Suresh of Blue Colt 2 of PS Afzalgunj who were found indulging in act of Grave Misconduct.Insp Afzalganj has been given a CHARGE MEMO for poor supervision and control . We are committed to public service.”
The Police department is being applauded for its quick and just service to the people of Hyderabad by punishing such offenders by people on social media. . “I am proud of @CPHydCity and #Telangana police. Appreciate their immediate action which would safeguard the confidence in law enforcing persons on the streets. #KCR,” wrote a user.

Some users also spoke about the frequency of these incidents and their experiences.
“This is a very common thing, if every citizen took videos of cops we would have hundreds of such videos every day from across the country. The cops will still downplay it. I have personally seen at least 5 such incidents,” commented a user. “…a system so well established be it any department…. we pay taxes for their salaries and perks and they demand bribes to do their duty! Top to bottom….system set ho gaya hai….mera Bharat,” tweeted another user. Some users also mentioned the lack of social distancing being followed by these policemen.
