UGC led Teachers’ Day Celebrations at EFLU

Prof. E. Suresh Kumar, Vice-Chancellor and Member, UGC led the Teachers’ Day Celebrations at The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad, through organizing an online talk on the “Role and Responsibility of Teachers under NEP-2020”. The talk was delivered by Prof. Vasant D. Bhat, a retired professor, and a former Dean, Regional Institute of Education, Mysore.

Prof. Bhat stressed on the role and responsibilities of teachers in transacting the potential ideas of NEP-2020. In addition to accepting teaching as the main responsibility, Prof Bhat reiterated that the role of the teacher in the development of curriculum, teaching-learning materials, and giving adequate emotional support to the students are the untold

responsibilities in the teaching profession. Reaffirming the objectives of National Education Policy-2020, he told that a systematic and graded improvement in the quality parameters is the controlling objective to achieve both students’ empowerment and teachers’ professional development. He advised the faculty and students to understand the values of vocational

education mentioned in NEP 2020 and search for the possibilities of the transactional avenues. In the end, Prof.Bhat pointed at the role and responsibility of teachers and students in the transformation of institutions as healthy and happy learning sites. Teachers Celebrations

Earlier, Prof. V. Sudhakar, Dean, School of English Language Education, welcomed all the students, faculty, and the distinguished alumni to the Teacher’s Day Celebrations online.
