The engine of Patna-Kota express derailed here early Sunday after hitting an uprooted tree fallen on track near Dariyaband in Uttar Pradesh.
According to reports, the accident was caused after the train Patna-Kota express heading towards Kota, hit an uprooted tree fallen on track due to thunderstorm that struck Uttar Pradesh a few days back. The driver applied emergency brakes, following which the train engine derailed, Government Railway Police (GRP) sources said here.
However, no casualty were reported, GRP sources said. Few passengers received minor injuries.
After receiving the information of derailment, railway technicians rushed to the spot and replaced the damaged engine.
