Hyderabad: The Government of Telangana has notified the Unified Package Insurance Scheme (UPIS) as a part of the PMFBY and RWBCIS for implementation during Kharif 2019 in Nizamabad District of Telangana State. The main features/ Operational Modalities of the Scheme are appended to this order.
As per the Operational Guidelines of the Scheme, Telangana State is divided into six clusters in which the Nizamabad District is selected for UPIS under II cluster and Agriculture Insurance Company of India Ltd. is selected as implementing agency.
The scheme is mandatory for farmers enrolled in PMFBY and RWBCIS. The farmers has to select at least two sections out of the following six sections: Personal accident Insurance; Life insurance; Student safety Insurance; House hold Insurance; Agriculture Pump Sets Insurance; and Tractor Insurance.
The Commissioner of Agriculture, Hyderabad shall take further action in the matter.(NSS)
