Hyderabad: The Telangana government has decided to enhance greenery by constructing a large number of Urban forests in different places all over the State. The main aim of the urban forest is to support the conservation of the environment by planting more plants in less space. The authorities are preparing to build such urban forests within the GHMC as well.
Yadadri model plantation work has already started on 10 acres in L.B Nagar zone of GHMC. Authorities have started a new type of plantation on the site of the Victoria Memorial Home Trust behind the Kottapet Fruit Market in the LB Nagar zone.
They are selecting different types of trees to plant differently. Education Minister Sabita Indrareddy and Mayor Bontu Rammohan inaugurated the planting program here. GHMC officials said the planting of two lakh seedlings would be completed by the 31st of this month. On the occasion, Minister Sabithareddy and Mayor Rammohan inspected the 51 varieties of plants brought in for the Yadadri model urban plantation.
