Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu was among the scores of bigwigs who paid tributes to actor-politician Nandamuri Harikrishna at his Mehdipatnam residence here on Thursday.
Harikrishna, fourth son of the iconic TDP founder and former Chief Minister of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh N.T.Rama rao was killed in a ghastly road accident in Nalgonda district on Wednesday.
The Vice President, who said that Harikrishna’s death was quite saddening, consoled the members of the bereaved family.
Mr Venkaiah recalled that Harikrishna, a former Rajya Sabha member, was firm on speaking in Telugu in the Upper House and when the then Chairman of Rajya Sabha objected to Harikrishna speaking in Telugu, he (Venkaiah) intervened offering to translate Harikrishna’s speech.
