Hyderabad: Ex-MP and All India Congress Committee, Secretary, V. Hanumantha Rao, registered a case against Mohan Bhagwat, Chief of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), at Saroornagar Police Station here stating that Bhagwat made an irresponsible statement during a public meeting at Saroornagar on December 25. His statement is “Irrespective of religion and culture, people who have the nationalistic spirit and respect the culture of Bharat and its heritage are Hindus and RSS considers the 130 crore people of the country as Hindus”.
The statement of Bhagat not only hurt the sentiments and beliefs of Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Parsis etc. but also against the spirit and tenor of the Constitution of India. This will also lead to communal tensions among the public and it could also become a law and order problem in Hyderabad, VH said and requested the police to register a case against Bhagwat for his anti-national and anti-secular statement.
