Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao on Monday expressed anger over the attitude of the party leadership on the issue of installation of BR Ambedkar statue at punjagutta crossroads. He alleged that the party leaders were not raising the issue despite the fact that the statue was still in the police station.
He alleged that Chief Minister KCR was behind the keeping of the statue at the police station for the last two months. He said that the CM had insulted Ambedkar with this Act. He asked the party leaders to fight on the issue. He said that the fight of the party leaders should continue until the statue was brought out of the police station. He said that the Congress party leaders should expose the CM on the issue in full public glare. He alleged that the CM had forgotten about his promise of installation of 125 feet statue in the state capital. He asked the state government if they considered Ambedkar as a terrorist that they kept his statue in the police station.
