Hyderabad : On being elected as MLC unopposed under MLA quota, Gutha Sukhender Reddy today called on Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao at Pragathi Bhavan. He met with the Chief Minister and profusely thanked him for the opportunity.
While KCR gave a hug to the new MLC of the party, other leaders greeted him. Recently KCR announced that he would induct Sukhender Reddy into his cabinet and roped him as MLC candidate and his election became unanimous as no other party fielded candidates. The Congress and the BJP have not fielded as they do not have number of MLAs to support a leader to become an MLC.
It was expected that the Chief Minister would promote Sukhender Reddy as a minister as he was State farmers coordination committee chairman. Legislature secretary Dr V Narsimha Charyulu declared Sukhender Reddy of the TRS as elected uncontested as an MLC under MLA quota. The bypoll was held due to disqualification of K Yadava Reddy, who defected into the Congress from the TRS. (NSS)
