Hyderabad: Several villages in the districts are preferring unanimous election of Sarpanches and ward members avoiding the polls in Telangana State in January even as the State Election Commission has geared up for polls in three phases.
According to the information, people in Shanthi Nagar in Elkaturthi mandal of Warangal Urban have selected unanimously the Sarpanch and ward members in their gram panchayat. They include Velangini Mary as Sarpanch and K Anand Reddy, S Jyothi, G Joji Reddy and B Mariyamma as ward members. Similarly, the people of Chakali Gudiselu village in Vangur mandal of Nagarkurnool district have elected unanimously Pujitha as Sarpanch and Satya Narayana as upa-sarpanch.
In Jagitial district, the people of Rajaram Thanda village of Kathalapur mandal have selected Laudia Saritha as Sarpanch and Islavath Chandru Nayak as upa-sarpanch. In Bugga Rajeshwara Thanda of Ellareddypet mandal of Siricilla Rajanna district, the people selected unanimously Ajmeera Tirupathi Nayak as sarpanch and others as members of the wards. (NSS)
