Vivek Bros resorting to politics in Cricket: VH

Hyderabad: Alleging that state government advisor G Vivek and his brother and former Minister G Vinod were resorting to politics in cricket, Congress senior leader V Hanumanth Rao alleged that Vivek brothers already earned Rs 20 crore in the form of advertisements and selling cricket match tickets. He asked Vivek brothers to tell as how it was possible to enter into lifelong agreement in regard to Uppal Cricket Stadium. He alleged that Vivek was resorting to ‘Danda’ in the name Uppal Cricket Stadium and made it clear that he will strive for the development of the cricket and for the welfare of sportspersons.

Speaking to the media here on Thursday, VH said that some people approached him for the help to construct Uppal Stadium. “I convinced UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi for the help but those people gone back thinking that I will dominate them. Later, they entered into agreement with Visakha Industries at Rs 6 crore for construction of Uppal Stadium. Visakha Industries paid only Rs 4.35 crore though it earned Rs 20 crore through advertisements and selling cricket matches’ tickets”, he alleged. (NSS)
