State Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today said that they had created an income of ₹10 crore by distributing sheep to Golla Kurma Community of Telangana.
He made these remarks while replying to questions raised by members of state Assembly during the question hour in the ongoing assembly session.
Speaking on the occasion, he said they had distributed 3,80,878 sheep units so far and added the Chief Minister of the state KCR had issued orders to distribute 3.5 lakh sheep units in the second phase of the scheme.
He said that they had spent ₹4780.44 crores for the implementation of the scheme in the state. Yadav said that the state currently has 1.91 crore sheep. He said that the decision to distribute the sheep was taken to encourage community-based professions.

He alleged that no state government cared for the community-based professions in the undivided AP state. He said that they had provided insurance cover to the sheep. He revealed that the sheep distributed by them produced 1.3 crore sheep.
The Minister said that they were supervising the sheep by establishing mobile Centers. He said that the state was in the first place in the entire country in the production of the sheep.
