In a sharp counterpoint to the BJP’s allegations, the State government ruled out any protocol violations during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s arrival at Hyderabad’s Begumpet airport on Sunday. The BJP accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao of insulting the Prime Minister and breaking protocol by failing to greet him at the airport.
“Why should he be received by the Chief Minister?” According to protocol, a State representative should go and extend an invitation. So I’m going there to welcome him as a Minister,” he told reporters.

This is the third time in the last six months that Chandrashekar Rao has declined to meet Prime Minister Modi when he arrives at Hyderabad’s Begumpet airport. The Chief Minister declined to receive the Prime Minister during his visit to Hyderabad in February of this year, and he returned to Bengaluru when Modi visited Hyderabad in May of this year.
Talasani Srinivas Yadav will also send off the Prime Minister after his visit to Hyderabad is completed, according to the report.
TRS working president KT Rama Rao said earlier that it was time to say “goodbye” to the Modi government at the Centre.
He criticized the BJP and suggested the people of Telangana should question Modi about what he has given to Telangana.
The BJP wants to oust the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi government in 2023 when the state goes to the polls.
