Woman back from london admitted to chest hospital

Hyderabad: In view of the Covid-19 global pandemic, the State government has strengthened surveillance, contact, tracing and containment measures against the possible spread of the dreaded disease. The first case of Covid-19 was confirmed on March 2 in the State.

According to a media bulletin released by Director of Public Health & Family Welfare this afternoon, to date, 17 COVID-19 positive cases were reported in the State. One new case was confirmed on Friday as an 18-year-old female of the city, with a travel history of arrival from London, was referred from a private hospital and admitted to TB & Chest Hospital, Erragadda. The patient is stable.

Director of Public Health & Family Welfare has appealed to the general public that any person, who returned from any foreign country or has been in Transit, shall be in self home quarantine for 14 days from the time of arrival in India, irrespective of having any symptoms or not. Any person, who has been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19, must remain in home isolation for 14 days. Those coming from abroad must self-notify at the nearest government hospital immediately after the onset of symptoms of coronavirus.

The citizens should call 104 health helpline for all queries pertaining to Covid-19. Maintain personal hygiene, use tissue paper/handkerchief while coughing or sneezing, frequently hand wash with soap and water or hand sanitizer. Avoid crowds or large social gatherings, the Director added.
