Hyderabad: University Grants Commission (UGC) through its South Eastern Regional Office (SERO), Hyderabad is conducting a one day Regional Workshop on Adoption, Promotion & Production of MOOCs on SWAYAM Platform at DDE Auditorium, Maulana Azad National Urdu University on 31st August, 2018.
According to Dr. G. Srinivas, Joint Secretary, UGC-SERO, the objective of the workshop is to increase the reach of SWAYAM through active participation of the Universities and Colleges. Prof. Rajnish Jain, Secretary, UGC will inaugurate the workshop and Mr. Saravana Kumar, Joint Secretary (MHRD) will preside over. Dr. (Mrs.) Pankaj Mittal, Additional Secretary, UGC-Delhi, Mr. Navin Mittal, IAS, Commisioner of Collegiate Education, Govt. of Telangana, Prof. Shakeel Ahmad, PVC, MANUU and other dignitaries will also address the inaugural.
The Workshop will be attended by Vice Chancellors/ Deans and SWAYAM Coordinators from Universities, Officials from Higher Education Departments from the States of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and A & N Islands and Principals & SWAYAM Mentors of the colleges.
The Govt. of India through MHRD and UGC has taken a significant initiative through SWAYAM an integrated portal and platform for hosting massive open online courses (MOOCS) named aptly as the ‘Study Webs of Acitve-Learning for Young Aspiring Minds (SWAYAM)’. It hosts various courses based on curriculum, continuing education and skill for online courses.
