Youngster hit by train while making reel video in Telangana

A 17-year-old youngster in Telangana nearly lost his life due to the craze to take videos of him walking close to a high-speed train.

As the youth was walking very close to the track near Kazipet Railway Station in Hanamkonda district, he was hit by a train from behind.

In the aftermath of the incident, the video went viral on social media. A train approaches him from behind as he walks along the track with his hands in his pockets. Within a few seconds, he was hit by the train and thrown aside. The youth was warned by his friend, who was recording the video on a mobile phone.

When a railway guard noticed Akshay on the track, he called an ambulance, and he was taken to a nearby hospital.  He is currently being treated in the hospital.

Chintakula Akshay Raju (17) was admitted to the MGM Hospital in Warangal after suffering grievous injuries. Currently studying engineering at Hanamkonda university, he is a resident of Vaddepally village.

He had the idea to capture the high-speed train in a video to upload on a social media platform while walking with his friends along the railway track near a pond. However, the craze nearly got him killed. He sustained a severe head injury as well as injuries to his leg and hand.

However, it is unfortunate that accidents involving young men and women attempting to make Instagram reels and take selfies in dangerous areas such as railway tracks are unfortunately all too common in the country.

A young man nearly lost his life in Hyderabad in 2018 when he attempted to take a selfie video with a speeding local train in the background. Severe injuries had been sustained by him.

It has been repeatedly warned by the railway police that walking near railway tracks could result in a fatality.
