A 28-year-old youth walked into the Malvalli police station with the severed head of a man who allegedly made derogatory comments about his mother.
According to the police, the accused, identified as Pashupathi was good friends with the deceased, identified as Girish.
Police said the accused identified as Pashupathi walked into the police station with the severed head of his friend Girish(25) and confessed to the crime and surrendered. There was rivalry between them and he suspected that mother of accused said to be motive behind the crime, police added. An axe that was used by the accused to chop the body was also recovered from the spot. He was immediately arrested.
