Kurnool: At least 15 persons were grievously injured when a wall along with roof collapsed in B Tandrapadu village in Kurnool district in the wee hours of Tuesday. The incident occurred when victims were standing on a house roof and under it to witness Muharram procession.
The injured were rushed to the Kurnool Government General Hospital. Of the 15, five of them suffered scalp and bone fractures. The villagers organized a dance program surrounding the embers pit and all the people gathered at the place and some of them were reportedly watching the ritual from house rooftops.
While the dancing session was under progress, an extension of the house roof, suddenly collapsed on the people standing on the roof and under it. The critically injured were under doctors’ care at the intensive care unit.
On receipt of the information, the police rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation.
