2,100 cops deployed to ensure peaceful immersion of Ganesh idols

Hyderabad: City traffic additional DCP Anil Kumar on Tuesday said they were taking all measures for the peaceful conduct of Ganesh idols’ immersion program in the city on September 12.

 DCP Anil Kumar said they have deployed 2,100 police personnel as part of their arrangements to avoid any traffic problem. About Balapur Ganesh shobha yatra, he said it would be held for 18km and they would not allow any vehicle through the lanes traversed by the Shoba Yatra. He said that there would be supervised by senior police officials at all important points in the city.

The DCP asked those who travel in their own vehicles should park their vehicles at the designated parking places. He also urged those who want to travel out of the city, to use Outer Ring Road instead of going through from the city to avoid any kind of traffic problem. He also urged the people, who want to witness Ganesh Nimajjanam program at tank bund to use metro trains to reach their destination. He exhorted the Ganesha pandal managers to complete their immersion program at the earliest and cooperate with the police. He said they set up 37 cranes to carry out the Ganesh immersion program at tank bund. (NSS)
