Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is committed to providing shelter to all eligible poor in the state by building double bedroom houses.
On Monday, he handed over house pattas to the beneficiaries of 234 double bedroom houses at YSR Nagar Colony of the 8th division in Khammam city and Jinkalathanda in Raghunathapalem mandal in the district.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister stated that the Khammam constituency was seeing the greatest number of double bedroom houses being built. In the Khammam constituency, all deserving people would be given houses.
He stated that 1,250 houses were built in Tekulapally, near the city, with all amenities for the poor to live respectfully. Double bedroom houses on such a large scale were built in Khammam with the Chief Minister’s support and the cooperation of IT Minister KT Rama Rao.
Ajay Kumar stated that the houses would be given with a permanent title in the beneficiaries’ names, as well as a house number and house tax. After Hyderabad, a total of 2,000 double bedroom houses were distributed on a large scale in Khammam alone.
“CPI leader Puvvada Nageswara Rao had in the past given house titles to the poor and now I am happy to get that opportunity to do so with the help of the Chief Minister,” the Minister said.
He stated that development and welfare were given equal priority in Khammam city, with all government welfare schemes being delivered directly to the poor. In Khammam, a total of 30, 000 people received various types of Aasara pensions.

Previously, Ajay Kumar began development work in various localities in the city. He stated that a new road from Srinivasa Nagar to Dhamsalapuram had been sanctioned with funds totaling Rs 2 crore.
Mayor P Neeraja was present, as were SUDA chairman B Vijay Kumar, AMC chairman D Lakshmi Prasanna, district Collector VP Gautham, Municipal Commissioner Adarsh Surabhi, TRS city wing president P Nagaraju, and others.
