Rakesh said that the milk to be shipped was sourced by a National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) unit from more than 3,000 pooling spots spread across 13,000 villages in and around the state’s Chittoor locale.

Originated on March 26, Doodh Duronto Specials operated on alternate days until July 15, when they began working every day.

Every milk train has six big tankers of 40,000 litres limit each, totalling 2.4 lakh litres milk per train. To arrive at the 3 crore litre milestone, the railroad zone worked 126 trains, shipping 751 big tankers.

Along with the milk, the train, through Kacheguda located in Hyderabad, likewise used to include some parcel vans, shipping different items, which were moved to a few different spots.
