A Youth Booked for Forcefully Converting a Girl in Karnataka

An incident has come to light against a young man of a mobile phone shop in Karnataka who forcibly converted a Hindu girl to Islam and harassed the girl. A case has been registered for forcing a Hindu girl to convert to Islam, sexually assaulting her and blackmailing her.

According to the police, the girl has filed a complaint against Khalil, the owner of the mobile shop. Mangaluru Women Police has started investigation into the matter.The girl worked in a fancy store in the Bakernakte area where she met and became friends with Khalil at a mobile shop. Taking advantage of the bond, Khalil allegedly planned the crime.

He promised her a good job and financial support and took her to his home in Kalpo. The victim said that he introduced her to a group of women there who forced her to convert to Islam. They asked her to read the Quran and also led her to pray. The accused then sexually assaulted her. He changed the victim’s name to Ayesha and threatened to fire her from her job if she disclosed the incident. She was always forced to wear a ‘burqa’.

The police have registered a complaint under IPC Sections 354 (assault or criminal force on a woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354(A) (committing acts of physical contact and involving unwanted and sexual assault). Progress), 505 (Whoever makes, publishes. or circulates any statement with intent to incite to commit an offense against another class or community), 34 (by several persons in furtherance of common intention Acts done by) and Anti-Conversion Act Columns 3 and 5. The matter is under investigation.
